Atherton Tablelands has a series of volcanic crater lakes with spectacular scenery, streams, rivers, and waterfalls. Popular with bushwalkers, the rainforests teem with animals and birdlife and the high altitude creates a cool mountain air climate. Swimming, waterskiing canoeing and fishing are popular pastimes.
Yungaburra is renowned for its historic architecture, fine arts and craft galleries and markets. A small number of excellent boutique restaurants and wineries to thrill the palate. A visit to the famous curtain fig tree with its spectacular aerial root system trailing 15metres to the forest floor should not be missed.
A variety of tours and destinations are available including caves, Platypus viewing, hot air ballooning, scenic flights and a steam train ride.

How To Get There:
|

Yungaburra Park Motel is one and a half hours from Cairns by car, head towards Kuranda via Highway 1. Follow Highway towards Atherton. Turn left at roundabout into Cook Street, Woolworths on left, turn left at "T" intersection into Louise Street, which now becomes the Gillies Highway, follow through to Yungaburra. Yungaburra Park Motel is on the right hand side next to the park. If you have reached the Pub you have gone too far.
