The Scented Rose Glaziers Bay ~ luxury BnB Accommodation in an Edwardian country home, set on 6 acres of beautiful and tranquil rose gardens overlooking the magnificent Huon River. The Scented Rose has two luxury guest rooms, ideal accommodation to use as a base for exploring the Huon Valley!

The Scented Rose offers two luxury Guest B & B Rooms with ensuites. Guest Room facilities include bay windows with views, 10ft high pressed metal ceilings, electric log fires – no mess, lounge chairs and settee, large TV, Austar, DVD player, dressing table with mirrors, wardrobe and mirrors and tea/coffee making facilities.
The Grand Room is a very large room with a King size four poster bed, private entrance, large bay window with fabulous views over our 4m high Heritage listed hedges, across the broad Huon River towards the Hartz Mountains and "the dragons backbone". At various times these mountains are snow capped and look simply stunning. The view is very special. Our Grand room also can be entered privately or through the main house. We have been told by our guests that our King sized four poster bed has given them the best nights sleep that they can remember. The secret of this is the very high quality mattress and overlay, combined with the peacefulness of the surroundings.
The French Provincial Room is more "normal" in size with similar features and stunning views, and is decorated in the French provincial style featuring a custom built wrought iron Queen sized bed.
All guests at The Scented Rose receive afternoon Tea and Cakes on arrival and Port and Chocolates in their rooms. Breakfast is a real treat, and is served in our dining room. It consists of a continental breakfast for starters, followed by Linda's country cooked breakfast. Truly a feast fit for a King or Queen. For guests who choose to stay with us for more than 2 nights and up to a week, we offer a generous discount.
Located in countryside reminiscent of the English Lake District, is The Scented Rose, a display garden of David Austin's English Roses. Set in 6 acres, the garden includes one of the finest borders of David Austin roses to be seen in Australia and extensive topiary hedges classified by the National Trust.
The Scented Rose Garden Open Season - October, November, December and January. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday - 10.30am to 6.00pm. More than just a display garden, The Scented Rose offers:
4m high Heritage listed hedges, The Rose Walk - the David Austin Rose Border, group tour bookings, 'Meet the Gardeners' guided walks, places to picnic, wedding and special event location. Photography for personal use is welcome. The gardens at The Scented Rose make for a beautiful backdrop for wedding photos and renewals. We can host receptions too.
There is a lot to see and experience in the Huon area and The Scented Rose is ideally positioned to explore this scenic region.

The Scented Rose is a splendid place to visit whilst exploring Tasmania's renowned south-eastern region.
When you walk through the Scented Rose's 6 acre garden, you'll breathe in the fragrance of a 30m border of David Austin Roses – a collection representing each Austin Rose currently available in Australia and some varieties no longer available. The roses are intermingled with perennials and there are tapestry hedges of rugosa roses and a 70m rugosa rose hedge along the entrance driveway. Take the Rose Walk beneath five arches covered with old roses and clematis, with a massive display of Alberic Barbier forming a backdrop to the border. Other features include National Trust classified topiary hedges, a 13m wisteria-draped pergola, and an informal park with thousands of daffodils, making a wonderful spring display.
For wine buffs, Glaziers Bay vineyards produce some of Tasmania's finest pinots. The fabulous Tasmanian World Heritage Wilderness Area is at your doorstep, including the remarkable Tahune Air Walk and the Hastings Caves.
The township of Cygnet a 10 minute drive away where you will find restaurants, cafes and galleries, golf course and tennis courts, seasonal berry fruit farms and fruit orchards, fishing locations, wineries and cellar door sales, museum and art and craft stores.
Take scenic drives to the Tahune Forest AirWalk, the Hartz Mountains, Franklin Wooden Boat School, Kettering, Woodbridge, Peppermint Bay, Bruny Island, Pelverata Falls, the Snowy Range Trout Fishery, Grandvewe Cheesery, Welcome Swallow Ciderworks and local vineyards.

How To Get There:

Glaziers Bay is a leisurely 45 minute drive south from Hobart along the Southern Outlet to Huonville. Turning left before the bridge, keeping the river on your right, takes you to Cygnet Coast Road (C639) after 10.5km. The Scented Rose is 6.5 kilometres along on your left at 1338 Cygnet Road, Glaziers Bay.
